Change Default.png

When I launch my app I get a black screen with small white font saying "Change Default.png" Thing is I deleted all the default.pngs in xcode so why does this keep on popping up? Thanks

Hi, You actually need to keep those files. They are required by Apple, and they serve as a sort of "preview" of the app..to make it appear the app is loading. I, and others, simply use those as a splash screen. I just replace those files with new files, named exactly the same, and in the same sizes, that have my splash screen image on them. Or, you can remove the white text and leave them just black. Either way, they are required and must remain. Mark

Check out the "launch image" section at this link: http://developer.apple.com/library/ios/#documentation/userexperience/conceptual/mobilehig/IconsImages/IconsImages.html I've never seen anybody do it like they "require"...even the major apps...but the file itself is required. Mark

Speak for youself @GoNorthWest, I'm very familiar with the site. You fail to consider that I consider journey half the fun and wouldn't consider denying others the fun. Who knows they may find other goodies there. Fred

On the default.png note (and I think this belongs here) does anyone else have the issue where the default iPad png's are displayed when loading the app on an iPad even though the app is set for iPhone only? I've had this issue with all my iOS apps so far so have just made the default screens for iPad in Xcode black. This way, the app still looks professional when loaded to iPad. Is this the right way to be doing things or am I missing a trick?
