Problem downloading app to the test phone

I finished working on my 1.4 app and now trying to download it to the phone in the debug mode. That is where I am running into problem. I see a downloading window on the sceen of the phone and the message tells me that this should only take a moment. However it never stops. If I exit out of it manualy and try to install the app on the phone it gives me the same downloading window with a moving wheel and the same message. The app is google api 6 while the phone is a DroidX with android 2.3.4 Any ideas? Thank you.

Hi Vilin, Sounds like you are trying to install via Eclipse? Or are you trying to send yourself an APK in order to install the app? In the Settings section of your device, do you have it configured to allow non-market apps, and to allow debugging? Mark

Seems something went awry in creating the .apk. Re-export, should take just a minute or two, post the .apk to Dropbox and install. Fred

I am installing via Eclipse. As far as sending my APK to install the app, is that a better way? I do have my phone set to allow debugging but I didnt check non-market apps. I wonder if thats what my issue is. My app will only be installed on 10-50 company phones, would you happened to know what is the best way to do it withouth android developers account?

Sending it around via email, or posting on a company website would work in your instance. Both are easy ways for users to download and install the app. Mark

*** As far as sending my APK to install the app, is that a better way? Email Website SMS Dropbox SD card Facebook IM and more. The "best way" is your way. Can't tell you in advance what "your way" is. I do have my phone set to allow debugging but I didnt check non-market apps. I wonder if thats what my issue is. Yes, that's probably the issue. Fred
