Scringo on iOS Question

Just wanted to know which version of Scrino are iOS developers using? Although the integration of the new version is pretty much the same as the last version, I'm confused about how users connect using heir Facebook or Twitter accounts as this isn't showing for me unlike the previous version which shows. On the new version of Scringo do you still have to add the Facebook ID string like the previous version? I'm starting to think the previous version is better also on he previous version the option of having the plugin in black was also handy.

I would like to see what the big deal is about Scringo. Could you explain what this does? Thanks I have a tutorial for basic installation on YouTube...but nothing about about implementation.

It's just a social media tool. Your app users will share the app taking it viral, or at least viral in that community. Fred

@Dragon007 I'm about to update a few apps with the new version, will let you know. Only played with the new beta a that was few weeks ago but I agree. @Isills81 The big deal is that it allows real-time communication between app users, integrated twitter and Facebook login ad posting to name but a few. it's a great social layer for your apps and the Scringo guys, in my opinion are only going to go from strength to strength.

@MacApple @Fred @Dragon007 Would it help my app get the rejection reversed (12.3: Apps that are simply web clippings, content aggregators, or a collection of links) even though that reason is bogus as I stream a newly released single (that is ONLY released on the App) from a semi-famous country music singer? Thank!

It certainly adds something to the app but wouldn't know if it'll get you around that rejection. As for the country singer maybe that's the real reason behind the rejection! Can't hurt to try. Add in a country quiz, add in a user generated gallery off the singer, things like that alongside Scringo should get you in.

Apple get tighter as more and more people make apps, it's a good thing. Ain't no weeds in a walled garden. Good luck with it. Country isn't music, few notable exceptions like Mr Cash of course.

@MacApple Well said! I would rather get my app kicked and have to refine it then have Apple's App Store look anything like the eye sore Google Play.

It appears with the new Scringo you can't enable armv6? Anyone else have this build error?

The new Scringo installs the same as the previous version.... remember to put the >>>>> "[ScringoAgent startSession:@"This_Is_Your_Scringo_App_Id" locationManager:nil];" directly after >>>>> "//app parsed it's configuration data" doesn't seem to have Twitter integration on The New iPad....everything else works....checking more

OK....got Facebook integration and saw first hand how awesome this app is. For some reason my iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPod 4th gen and iPad 3rd Gen would not let me sign-in when I was on Scringo with Twitter but was perfect on my iPhone 4S. So remedy this I integrated Facebook. This is a very cool feature and makes the Scringo experience fun and entertaining. I emailed Scringo about why I couldn't get the Twitter login even though I was on 5.0+....I will update this post after I hear from Scringo. Here is how to setup Facebook login for Scringo. This assumes you don't have your Facebook App setup already. If so you can skip this first part. This also assumes you already have Scringo up and running. 1st: Go to ( https://developers.facebook.com/apps/ ) and register your app with Facebook. Integrating Facebook is pretty extensive so here is the Facebook dev documents: http://developers.facebook.com/docs/mobile/ios/build/#register 2nd: Setup your application's plist file to look just like this. https://www.dropbox.com/s/jzi48espk8qfpzg/Scringo%20FB%20Setup.jpg 3rd: In yourapp_ appDelegate.m file add these lines of code directly below the last line of code of Scringo. - (BOOL)application:(UIApplication *)application handleOpenURL:(NSURL *)url { return [ScringoAgent handleOpenURL:url]; } That is it. Run the app and now you can login with Facebook... :P

I am getting this error..... /Scringo.framework/Scringo, file is universal but does not contain a(n) armv6 slice for architecture armv6 clang: error: linker command failed with exit code 1 (use -v to see invocation) If I remove the armv6 architecture I get 2 more errors.... -The first error is because I have my deployment target set to 3.0 (if I change this to 4.2+ Xcode throws up a plethora (24 errors) of depreciation errors. -The second iPhone/iPod Touch: application executable is missing a required architecture. At least one of the following architecture(s) must be present: armv6 (-19033) Unable to validate your application. - (null)
