Eclipse errors: BT_item.java & BT_screen_map.java

Downloaded my project (v2.0) as an Android app, but it won't compile, showing these errors: BT_item.java (error on 'point') BT_screen_map.java (errors on many child items like 'downloadScreenDataHandler', 'mapOverlays', 'mapView', 'getPoint(double, double)' and 'showAlert'. There are many others, too.) I've compiled other apps before, although this is a new install of Eclipse (version 4.2.0). I used GoNorthWest's excellent write-up to get the new version working on my iMac. The app in question uses a standard BT map with driving directions. I have no clue about Eclipse as I view it whole bag of hurt! Any help would be appreciated! Regards, Andy

hi How did you load the buzztouch files into the new Eclipse(4.2.0) was it through import or was it through "New". I have installed the new Eclipse successfully, but i could not load the buzztouch project, in the way it is explained in the instruction.pdf, which comes along with the project. and when i try to follow GoNorthWest's instructions, that is import option. i am getting the same error. I think this is because we are not able to select the api level. so now i am installing the Eclipse 3.7.2 indigo

Yes, I imported (the text was something about "build from existing code/source"). I will try to revert if there are no solutions to this. Thanks for verifying it's not just me. Regards, Andy

Hi Andy, Not sure if you've used this guide or not, but it explains all the stuff involved with mapping: http://www.buzztouch.com/files/howtos/buzztouch_For_Android-A_Users_Guide.pdf There's a section on there regarding the Google Maps stuff. Hope this helps. Let me know if you still have issues, and we can get them worked out! Mark

This post from SrikarSree helped me solve my issue: http://www.buzztouch.com/forum/thread.php?tid=88F48516AFB6FE52CC63887&command=isSearching&currentPage=1&topicTitle=&createdBy=SrikarSree&repliedBy=&minViews=-1&maxViews=-1&minReplies=-1&maxReplies=-1&forumCategory= "Finally, i got my app working on Eclipse. The real problem is that i was not able to select the built. So i was getting errors. Now what i did was i imported the project has explained by GoNorthWest, and when the project is loaded into eclipse (with about 100 errors pertaining to src folder of the project) i right click on the package explorer then click >Built path> configure built path>Android (from the menu) then change the radio button to Google API 8, by default the selection will be to Android 2.2"

Hi there, I am getting the same exact errors although when I go to configure build path I see 4.2 unchecked but don't see Google API 8. Do I add it through the SDK Manager to show up in that menu? Thanks in advance!
