Calendar and reminder intergration?

Hi All from Australia!! new to Buzztouch and first post in the forum - Lots of Excitement and enthusiasm here! Quick question (this might be a silly one as i havent attempted at making an app yet, still going through the videos and coming up with ideas) Is there the ability to have a calendar within the app that can store and 'push' its own reminders to the lock screen (iOS) - and if there isnt, does anyone have any ideas on how i might accomplish this?

to clarify a little, i was looking at some kind of system where the app can automatically generate events in some sort of calendar, can it do that with the iphone calendar? or does the app require its own?

That looks like it may work, what i am hoping to do as an example, have an app that can keep track of wine aging, the user inputs details of what type of wine it is and when it was stored and the app then automatically creates reminder events in a calendar wether it be the iphone calendar or google calendar or if possible, one implemented in the app itself with push notifications according to preset timeframes for types of wine.
