White screen of death....

Hi all, new here so please berate me accordingly if I'm doing something stupid! BT 2.0 Android App I created an app yesterday, very basic, just a simple menue. I then got all excited and tried to add a splash screen which I couldn't get to work. I eventually gave up and was going to return to it later. I deleted the splash screen but then my stopped working. When I run it, it just displays a white screen. After a lot of messing about I couldn't get rid of this whit screen. I decided to start again with a brand new app. I again created just a simple menu, zipped it and imported it into Eclipse. When I ran it on the simulator the same white screen is displayed. No menu, no messages in the consol or logcat. So it appears I've broken something on a global scale. Can someone advise how I fix it? Cheers

Did you refresh the app's data?

Hi @MrT, Welcome to buzztouch! I would start by deleting all remnants of the Splash Screen...any link in Core Properties/Global Theme, as well as the actual screen itself. Then I would make sure the "Home Screen Menu" actually exists. Finally, I would do as @Fred suggests, and grab the Configuration Data from the control panel and paste it into your BT_Config.txt file. Then refresh your package in Eclipse, followed by a Project...Clean from the menu bar, and run it again. Then let us know what happens! Mark

i have the same problem. started a new app using 2.0. uploaded my icon and added a splash screen. (added the .jpg to the files section under images) extracted source code to xcode. running on iphone simulator just gives me a white screen with the nav bar. i dont even see the refresh button. ive done all of the above (deleting the splash screen, deleting the file, checking config file and i dont see my splash screen file name) nothing appears under splash screen in my global theme either Ive tried adding 3 tabs, which appear down the bottom but still the white screen instead of my menu lists ive created or my buttons that i have created Any help appreciated Thanks in advance

Hmmm.....somethings done the trick. I accidentally dragged the white screen to the right and my home screen was there on the left so it appears I had multiple screens open and didn't realize. Seems to be working now but I can't drag the white screen back (not that I care about that) so whatever it was has now gone. One more question: Can I run multiple apps in the same simulator session? It seems to get confused when I tried to run both my apps in the same session. Thanks for your help

Yep, you can run multiple apps. In fact, once your app is loaded in the Emulator, you don't even need to use Eclipse again, because the app has already been loaded into the Emulator. Just fire up the Emulator, tap the app icon, and it'll start. You can then make changes to your app in the buzztouch console and watch it change on the emulator! And, you can have multiple apps installed in the Emulator. Mark
