How Glossary

Hi, I'm making a Glossary which has around 150 words. I would like to use a list of words, and when someone clicks on it the explanation is shown. Is there a way to combine a search function at the top with a list below it? Any brighter ideas from experienced devs how to handle this, and keep it easy to oversee for a new user? Regards, Coer

Good idea, I was just playing with something like this myself A piece of cake to do it like this on BT self hosted on the iOS platform 1) Use a Menu for each word 2)Each Menu item points to a HTML doc (or url or whatever, anything...) 3) Use the SEARCH plugin from Buzztouchmods as that will search your menus. Instant dictionary with search! and for a little extra flare/time saving... check out idevdepot.com Stobe has a list menu tool. ALL kinds of functionality in that tool which would make this even easier. he's also got a brilliant hack to zebra stripe the menus. a beautiful mod for menus. Welcome to BT. LOVE your city. Been too long since my last visit!

Thanks for the suggestions. Only problem, which I should have mentioned, is that I need it on Android :-)

Great. I was reacting on ATRAIN53 primarily though, as he refers to a search function which indeed only works on iPhone. I don;t think here is yet a Android search option in BT, right?

Not a plugin, just jQuery Mobile.

Thanks. I'm studying jQuery Mobile now. Absolute beginners question about using it with BT: I guess the basic idea you give me is to make a simple html page via the HTML BT plugin, insert the jQuery search widget in the html page, as well as the jQuery accordion widget. Right? I see that for jQuery to work I need to point to and include 3 files, (a theme, jQuery, and jQuery UI). How do I go about this in BT? Where do I upload these files, in the root of my app? And how. Is this automatically compiled? Please be gentle, I'm a little over my head but learning fast..

You have two options: a. Embed the html doc into app (place in BT_docs folder) b. Link via URL (post HTML to Dropbox or a website) As for adding the additional jQuery Mobile library not sure if it's necessary unless your seeking offline use. Fred

I tried option b, linked via a URL, and the HTML is in my website, including all jQuery Mobile libraries. The jQuery Mobile works fine in my website (nice tip, jQuery Mobile is cool!), and also in a browser on my Android if going directly to the URL, but not inside the app; no markup is shown, so the jQuery seems to be ignored. Any ideas?

Hi Fred, I still didn't find a solution. If you still have the time to have a look one of these days, I'd really appreciate it. Coer
