Testing New Features with online app

Hi, I've reading about the offline Vs Online apps. I have an online app thats live in the app store. I want to test some new stuff to implement. I understand I can redirect the app to a new place where I host the config file. to do this, I think I have to go to my CP and in app's core proprieties I change the Configuration data URL and the cloud URL, correct? Doing this will mean that when a users reopens the app, it will be updated to the new hosted config file. My question, If I do nothing else and try to test new features, when my simulator or device updates it also will be redirected to the new config file. If I then go back to my CP and re-change the core proprieties I will be able to do the testing, but, and here is my question, won't this mean that users who have not yet open the app, opening after I re-change the core proprieties, they will not be redirected to the new config file? So, how should this process work? Cheers.

I didn't know you could do that either. from what I understood is when you have an app on the store already you can make minor changes to the app, but not major changes is that what you are trying to do madrod?

You must be reading my mind. This is actually one of the subjects for this week's BuzzCast. (hopefully available tomorrow). If you change the DataURL in your control panel to a different destination, any new downloader (that is downloading an app that is pointed to the control panel) should be forwarded to the new destination as well. In your simulator (or test device), you'll likely have to hard code the config via the BT_Config.txt file in xCode to make and test your changes. I plan to have a lot more info in the podcast. But let me know if you have any more questions.

Thanks guys. It's not big changes but it does evolve playing with Colours and buttons sizes and stuff. Then I guess I shouldn't re-change the core proprities on CP until changes are final? Cheers

hink I have to go to my CP and in app's core proprieties I change the Configuration data URL and the cloud URL, correct? Wrong, leave the Report2CloudUrl alone. Fred
