html dropbox blank screen

I created a custom html on Buzztouch. i then copy/pasted the code in order to try messing around with inserting paypal shopping cart buttons. I inserted the one piece of code for an add to cart button and saved it as a .html dropbox. If i open dropbox and click on the file it gives the option to open it with internet or text editor etc. When i select internet it launches browser and doc opens fine with paypal shopping cart button displayed exactly where i want it. If i then copy the dropbox link to the doc and insert it as the url for a html doc screen but nothing is displayed but a blank black screen. If i reference the same link using a custom url screen all i get is the dropbox screen with the html source code and option to download. Any help will be great.

Hello! If you are going to reference a file from DropBox, make sure it's in your Public folders. Then right-click on the filename, do Copy Public Link, and paste that into your buzztouch control panel for that screen. Make sure you don't have any space or strange characters in your HTML filename. Mark

Hi. Im using android phone as at work at the moment. I opened it in desktop view and copied the link which is different to the dropbox app link i was given. I have pasted it as url in html doc screen and now i get a message stating somethings not right. file not downloaded yet . It also throws a 403 error when used as custom url. If i paste into native browser address bar it works perfect. Can't understand it.

You phone has Internet connection for sure? Are you able to access other sites? The HTML file is in your public DropBox folder, or a subfolder within that folder? Mark

Are you using your device to obtain the link?

Go to Dropbox using the browser. (No, using the app won't work. ) Switch to desktop if it's in mobile view. Go to the file, select public link, copy and use. Using the Public folder is unnecessary, and new Dropbox accounts will no longer have public folders. Fred Your link posted above is a non-public link.

Tried to access that URL on my iPhone, got a message saying I don't belong there! Seems like a permissions problem...meaning you can only see the file if you happened to be logged into DropBox and you own that file. Mark

Tried to access from work on my laptop, same Error 403 access problem, and I'm logged into DropBox, but with my account. I think it's only letting you view the file when you are logged into DropBox, hence why you can see it on your browser, but not your device. I think this is a permissions problem with DropBox...or at least the URL you are trying to use. Mark
