My first app approved!

Hey all, just saying thanks to those who helped me (over the last year or more- I was a sporadic app creator) finally get my first, simple, silly app approved! Sue, Sheri, Kittsy, Angry, Niraj, GoNorthWest, Smug, and many others patiently answered my questions and helped me find solutions (to probably easy things!)! THANKS! Now I'm on to a quiz app I've been working on for while... https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/what-the-heck!/id821121884?mt=8 Glad you all had a great time in Vegas!! Maybe next time I can join ya. =) Take care, Sarah

Nice concept, and congratulations! It's always super cool to get the first app published. You should be very, very proud of your accomplishment! I did notice an error in the link...an exclamation point. This one works: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/what-the-heck/id821121884?mt=8 Can't wait to see what else you come up with! Mark

Thanks, Mark! I hadn't noticed the exclamation point. Yeah, it was just fun to see it approved, even if it's nothing special- looking forward to getting lots more in each subsequent app!

Thanks Red Dog, Allan, and Niraj! And I can definitely create more captioned pictures! Speaking of that, now I don't know the next steps- if I want to change anything in the app, do I just do that using the BT cpanel and then hit "publish changes?"

That depends ... Did you remember to change from "design" to "live" mode in the configuration file prior to submitting the app to Apple? If it is in "Live" mode inside the app, then you can make your changes and click on "Publish". If it is in "Design" mode, then do these steps: 1. Don't do experiments on your Control Panel. All experiments and changes are picked up by users of your app. 2. Submit an update of your app into Apple with a setting of "Live" mode. 3. Wait ... And the updated app is available! :-) 4. All new downloads of the app will see the changes only when you hit "Publish" 5. All original downloads of the app who have not yet updated the app will continue to see your design changes. For them, you can change the Home Screen to a simple page that encourages those users to update the app. Don't hit "Publish" when you do change that Home Screen -- you want only the "Design" mode folks to see that change. Then let that stay in place for a week. After that week, the stragglers who have not updated will always be "watching" your experiments -- until they finally update the app. -- Niraj
