im sorry, i've been trying to figure this out for 2 days without bugging anyone and searched up and down on the forum. looked at the tutorial for hours. i don't know what im doing wrong. i've updated the Android SDK manager and even using the project that i learned from the tutorial.

bug us! Mark thrives on it! :) @Mark and anyone else. I don't know if you know this (you probably do) but in eclipse, you can enable a view called 'problems' (Window > Show View > Problems) It's like a pre-logcat logcat that reports errors and offers (often baffling but sometimes useful) solutions. Logcat is useless if the app doesn't even fire up, so this sort of bridges the gap.

ok, the problem fixed but now the app isn't showing up. i tried the log cat and it seemed to have fixed it self. just the app is missing from the emulator.

I totally use the Problems pane all the time! I figured in this instance, though, if he was only getting warnings, then it would at least compile, and the problem is more likely to be explained in the Console window. Hard to say, though, without seeing some output! @trukaos : So, no errors showing in the Console at all? It says it's installed to the Emulator, and that the activity has started? Mark

yes, no errors popping up but the app isn't showing on the emulator.i highlight the app on eclipse on the project explorer tab and start the emulator. the icon i picked isn't showing.

@GoNorthWest tell us if you figured out the problem and solution, I know from experience that the android emulator can be buggy and really slow at times, and I'm wondering if the version has anything to do with that. Cheers, David buzztouchmods.com

He's all good now! Not sure what fixed it, as it seemed to be by magic. But, it's working, he can see his app, and things are running as well as can be expected for Android! Mark

He did reinstall the APIs, which I think helped the cause. That's my guess on why it's working now.
