New Refresh Issue

When users download the apps we have up from Buzztouch 1.5 in the apple store they get a version of the app that doesn't work at all. See we have had to add some features to get the apps up in the stores that we sometimes delete once they have made it into the store. We also add a few custom html links after the apps are up as well because to many links have caused rejection in the past. When a user downloads the app some fields are not clickable or are pointed to the wrong Custom Url. Once you hit the refresh key all is fine. However, its not asking the user to automatically refresh when first downloaded nor is it showing the original config data that is uploaded with the app. It's like a weird mix of the original config data and our updates but our updates are not clickable. It is causing a ton of headaches on our side. Any suggestions?

Copy the the Config file from BuzzTouch to your BT_Config file. Then rerun the code. Then archive it. DONE This will fix it.....same problem I had and this was the magic fix!

I'm assuming you mean to re-submit the code to the store as well?

Yes....need a clean binary upload. I thought you meant you were still running it on your device through Xcode. Then once it works flawlessly you can archive it and submit it to Apple.

That's a common occurrence. I plan on covering some tips on how to avoid this on a future episode of BuzzCast (though, it will be a little too late for you). Isillis has you on the right path, though.

Hey, just had a similar post and got a reply from David that explained that that is the way it's suppose to work. App only looks for chances the second time it loads. I'd suggest You add to your app description that a refresh or a second opening of the app is needed to get updated features. Cheers

That would work....but if you are like me, I want the app to open correctly the first time for the user. Seems more like a native app then a plugin based or web app version when it has to update after the first screen....IMO @MadRod that is a great idea though.

Isills Had the same problems as above. Used your advice and copied the Config file from BT to Xcode BT_Config file and worked a treat. Cheers
