Link back to app?

Can an html page link back to another section of the app? For example, I am trying to create an app that has a list of places which link to html page about each place with the available activities in each place. There is also a separate menu of activities that links to each page with those activities. Can the activities in the html page link back to the activities list in the app? In other words, cross reference back to another section in the app?

The problem is that BuzzTouch makes it easy for artsy designer types like me to ALMOST make a good app, but now I'm in the weeds and need to really know programming to see my way clear. HTML is one thing, but this is quite another! In my app, I think people will expect the list to go back to the app and it looks like I need more chops than I have to make that happen. b

One solution is to make the list HTML? It's impossible to tell without knowing how you want to make your app, but that's what my girlfriend is doing. Cheers, David buzztouchmods.com

I could, but it seems like that would defeat the purpose and feeling of appy-ness of the app, ya know? Basically, it seems from that first thread's thread you sent that it may be possible, so maybe eventually I'll figure it out or maybe get someone to help. Thanks for your suggestion though. I have a lot of learning to do!

It's possible with iOS, I'm sure it's possible with Android just hasn't been figured out. HTML is supported by both Apple & Google in their respective apps. There's a difference between a web-app and using HTML in an app. Apple frowns on web-apps in the app store, but not on HTML. Fred

Hmm. And Buzz-touch is a web-app, yes? -- except for any parts that are html? Is it because updates have to be re-downloaded, etc? Would it also mean Apple will not approve it so easily (if I ever get this done?) Thanks for your insight... (this is always a learning experience). b

Buzztouch is not a web-app. Web-app can be embedded into Buzztouch apps. Fred

ps ... am I better off making the pages Custom URLs or HTML5 on a dedicated domain? Depends on what you're trying to accomplish. You probably are better off embedding the html doc into the app. Fred

Hi @BoseArts, As @Fred mentioned, buzztouch is not an web app, but a native iOS or Android app. It does provide a webView screen, which can be used to display HTML content without leaving the app at all. When you open up an HTML document or site in buzztouch, it provides a Back button on the screen that allows you to go back to the previous app screen. But, you can also navigate within the HTML, inside the screen itself, without ever leaving the app. Basically, the screen can be considered a mini browser! Mark

Yes, ok. For now I'll use the one of the buttons to navigate to other parts of the app. Wish I could label it though. Not complaining really - this is a great tool. Thanks
