Google Cloud Print

Does anyone here speak Google Cloud Print? Here's my sitch: Until I can wrap my head around BT more fully, I'm using another code vendor that uses Google Cloud Print as the mechanism so my app can print at my client's location. So, that vendor says "Just buy a printer that is GCP compatible." And that sounds fine until you do a little research..... (and I'm still researching)..... It looks like all the printers that are GCP compatible are either poorly rated, or too expensive, or both. What my client really needs is just a POS printer (like the Epson TM-U220B), BUT if I have to settle for something that I can sell to my client.... I could go with a small footprint laser printer. They don't need any of that all-in-one crap. They don't need color, or photo printing. Just simple printing that's cheap. So, my question to you all..... Are you aware of a GCP compliant printer that is a good value, and has decent ratings and is a basic laser unit?

I'm looking on Amazon, not seeing anything that says Google Cloud print or ePrint (which is HP's name for the same compatibility). Are you using that printer without the benefit of being connected to a computer? What GCP and Apple's AirPrint are doing is setting up the printers to work without a computer and driver to make stuff print. This is just IP printing.

Ok. I found on the HP site that I would have to update the firmware to make it ePrint. Is this what you had to do? What kind of blocks have you run into using GCP?

Thanks, Ryan. Have you tried it with Android as well?

Hey Ryan, Just thought I'd let you know that I bought the same printer. Works very well overall. HP has some issues with osx lion that I find frustrating, but can be worked out. Thanks so much for your input. Scott
