Manage Screens and Actions Thought

I can't seem to figure out any particular methodology for how screens are listed in the Manage Screens and Actions page in the control panel. The (unchangeable?) default seems to be the Grid View. In the List View, one can change the order to alphabetical, date modified, or type which could be very helpful if only the last setting selected would be saved for the next time the page is accessed. Unfortunately, it goes back to the "random" Grid View. Any way this could be changed? Or perhaps explained (what algorithm is the control panel using to order the screens in Grid View)? A setting to manage the default view would be very helpful, I think. Fred

In my Buzztouch Screens article I explain how I use pre-fixes to manage screens. Fred www.MySkylla.com

Yep. Just visited your website. There is no immediate link on your guide's home page that says "Buzztouch Screens" article as you mentioned in your response. And when I select a link trying to guess which one it is in, I get stuck. There is no back navigation. When I use Chrome's back arrow, the site hangs and Chrome needs to "kill" the page in question. I would LOVE to read any of the articles you direct us to. I just find it frustrating to access your guide. Would you be willing to give a direct link to it rather than to only your home page? I've seen others mention this issue as well, and you respond tongue-in-cheek. No doubt you are trying to help. :) I just haven't been successful at getting to the help you are offering. No doubt it's my own inability to find it. Sorry!

Ahhh... much better. Very helpful. Thank you! Got right to it. String searched "prefix" then "pre-fix" and found your hint. Didn't quite address my idea to have a setting within the control panel to save a preferred default view setting, but I do like the idea of managing a lot of screens with a code. You do note as I did in my post that the List View can be sorted. I think it's just unfortunate that it takes additional clicks to make that happen every time I visit that screen. I was contributing to the Wish List forum by suggesting this be looked at. Thanks, again for the more detailed location. That bit alone will probably aid my future visits to your Guide. Oh, one last thing: I did get stuck again when hitting the back arrow in Chrome. Its a bit of a navigation pain in the rear, but I appreciate all the info your Guide provides regardless! Fred
