Official documentation?

Sorry if this is a dense question: but is there documentation on buzztouch, offered by BT directly, and found on the main site? I have done the vids, but really want deep docs that show and explain most of the nuances BT offers. Is that here on the main site? thanks kindly for any pointers. drew.. ps: i found docs for 1.5, not for 2.0 ..

I'm not official but I have very good documentation for BTv2.0 www.MySkylla.com go to the Documentation Section. In addition, every plugin has documentation. Go to your user account and click on plugins. Excellent info there. Fred

Thanks Fred.. perhaps i have some funky caching going on, but that link takes to me a bare, two-tabbed page with no documentation at all. If i follow the "MySkylla's Guide to Buzztouch" link i find there, i get to a pseudo-iphone list-like page .. again with no docs.. Do you or anyone else have direct links to docs? I have been going in circles for a while on this. I can easily just start adding plugins etc and playing, but i prefer a read-first approach where possible.. many thanks.

I would start by reading as much as you can on the How To page. It isn't all in the best order, but start with this document from @gonorthwest. He is an excellent writer and anticipates where users need more detail. http://www.buzztouch.com/resources/Things_You_Need_Before_You_Start_Developing_Apps_v1.0.pdf I am not sure of others agree, but I would recommend making a very simple app first on 1.4....you don't even have to publish it, but it will give out the idea of how it all works. Then try one in 1.5 and go from there.

Thank you Susan, not sure if this was the correct link, as a 5-minute christian mediation won't help much with Buzztouch ;) .. I would like to clarify, i am an .Net experienced developer, and already have created a few Xcode apps, and understand many basic concepts. I am simply trying to find the docs that encompass buzztouch and what 2.0 contains. Frankly, this seems like a missing piece to the buzztouch puzzle which is surprising given how long they have been around here (which i surmise from the date of postings). Surely there is some level of BT-produced docs? I don't want to start of my BT experience on a negative note, but this is a bit confusing as to why there just isn't a Documentation link on the main site, leading to docs that cover most if not all of what Buzztouch offers.

You were one click away click on Buzztouch (android & iOS) Fred In my guide's main page you'll find four bottoms with the word "Buzztouch" 1. Link to Buzztouch 2. The Buzztouch Process 3. Buzztouch (Android & iOS) 4. Link to BuzztouchMods Pressing either button 2 or 3 will take you to a page that has a button called "Source Code & Documentation" Yes, I agree it's very difficult to find, Not!

@Aquarius, if you can understand the v1.5 docs (which are very well documented), then v2.0 isn't much different. The difference is that all of the v1.5 "plugins" or "screens" haven't been replicated yet in v2.0. Each v2.0 "Plugin" should have their own documentation integrated within the plugin itself. Think of it this way: As of the time of this typing, v2.0 is simply a framework to build upon that is not quite as "fleshed out" as v1.5 is. Whereas with v1.5 all the source code you need for every screen is included in every source download (and not scaleable), with v2.0, only the source you need for the plugins you're using is included with your download. In the long run, v2.0 will be much more scaleable. And Fred does have some good information on his site, breaking down the v2.0 source. But you have to pray at the alter of Insane Website Navigation for hours before you'll be able to find it. :)

@aquarius, @Stobe said it best, v1.5 docs are very applicable for v2.0 ;-) "Official" docs were created for v1.5 but not for v2.0, we're working on figuring out the best way to explain it all. Some folks prefer details for each plugin, while others prefer details for the core, while others prefer details for the self hosted package. You get the idea... We have been working on an official document set that will cover the ins-n-outs of how it works but can't promise a release date.

thanks folks.. given my newness, i didn't want to invest much into reading 1.5 thinking it was out-of-date. I will now spend more time reading that area. @Stobe, thank you kindly, that was a nice outline. @David: thank you, i have been reading many favourable reviews, although my efforts will be geared toward a more interactive app, i am hoping that, coupled with Parse, i can find a nice equilibrium. I come from a business app framework in .Net so i am used to finding ways for the "plumbing" code to be auto-gen'd. Finally, @Fred, thanks for the pointers and i appreciate all your efforts on your site and here! I must admit though, since i don't know you, i don't quite know how to interpret "Yes, I agree it's very difficult to find, Not!" ... cheers!
