Monthly subscription

Hi guys, I am very new to buzz touch and is learning the ropes in the free account. But I am quite confuse with the self host account subscription. If I go self host and install buzztouch on my own server, how is buzztouch going to "freeze" my account if I stop paying the monthly subscriptions? Since I already got everything on my server? Just wish to know more about the sunscription scheme before I dive into self hosting. Rgds

You receive a API key, that pings the BT subscription server each time its accessed to check if the account is still active or not. If the key is inactive, your self hosting will stop working. Meaning you won't be able to log into it no more.

Actually you'll still be able to login to your server. Your apps will continue to work. You'll still be able to modify those from your self-hosted Control Panel. What you won't be able to do is download the Source Code. If you wish to add additional plugins you won't be able to download the source code to add the new screen to your app. Fred

Hi guys, Tks for the clarification. @Fred, so if I go self host and have push an app to the market. And months later I decided to stop the subscription with buzztouch, does that mean that the app that I have previously push out is subjected to the limited views per month again like the free account?? The thought of that happening is not very appealing.

I was wrong and @Fred was right. Straight from @Davids post: "a) API keys. An API key is used to connect your open source self-hosted software to the buzztouch backend. For most folks (large enterprises are not most folks) this will be very affordable and a huge value. For sure not more than a few hundred dollars per YEAR. Probably less. Cancel your account, your apps still work because they are powered by your control panel. In this case you would simply not be able to 'download the code' for new apps from our backend."

@Justin0108, there are no view limits by Buzztouch on self-hosted. Views hit your server, so the only limits would be servers limit. Fred

@coderx, ahhh...tks for the quote from David. So my app will not be subjected to the limited views as it has already been hosted on my server! That sounds better :)
