full download of an app

is there a way to have all screen information and everything download tothe device? My apps are reference materials for boy scouing and I have had several people request this option so that when they do not have an internet connection they may still use the app. Is there a danger of them "stealing" the information? Is it even "doable" Thanks Al :-)

Anything in a mobile app (or web) is stealable wouldn't worry about it. All content can be embedded on the app. An app doesn't have to have connectivity to work. It just needs connectivity to features you don't embed. Fred

Hi Al, Yes, you can have everything packaged up with the app. Just put the items in BT_Docs or BT_Images or wherever is appropriate (that's for iOS...slightly different for Android). I really wouldn't worry about anybody stealing the content...if somebody really wants it, like Fred suggests, they'll find a way to get it no matter what you do! Notice that when you create a screen for a PDF file or something like that, you can put either a local filename or URL. In your case, you'll want to use a local filename, and then add the file to your project. Here's a description of how to do that: http://www.buzztouch.com/resources/Adding_Files_To_A_Project_v1.0.pdf Mark

With Android it's not even a case of trying to find a way. An .apk is just a zipped folder as far as xml and assets are concerned. Proguard, which will be included in an Android project can help, but correct configuration is a beast! Might be a user Guide in that Mark...

I know I'd love to see a good guide that's BT specific Mark! No rush though :)
