Loading Buzztouch 2.0 into Eclipse

Hi, I have started to develop an app using buzztouch 2.0 and following the tutorial. The problem now is that when I try to load it into eclipse, i am not sure what to upload into eclipse. So is it the classpath, or the project or the android manifest or what? Thanks in advance.

All you have to do, when you create a new Android project or import a new Android project in eclipse is point to your unzipped bt folder when prompted, eclipse will do the rest.

Sililar to this, everytime I load my app, I see the Emulator launch but never see my app. I have tried on two computers, the app in the tutorial and a new app. Have tried 2.2 and 4.1 emulators and still, I cant see my app. I saw it under installed apps, but according to all the docs, it should load and load first being the thing I see when it loads, and not the Android menus. Thoughts? Thanks in advance Ron

Hi Ron, Are there any errors in your console screen? Sometimes when the Emulator launches, you have to swipe to unlock it. Then the app may or may not already be running. If not, hit the little grid button at the bottom to see all your apps, and then click on your app icon. But first make sure there are no errors in the console. Sometimes the Emulator launches, but the process to install the app has died. Feel free to email me at MrkFleming at gmail dot com if you need more help! Mark

No errors in the console. I am downloading the sdk per another thread you were in with another use. Will see how that goes. I have all the latest Jave and Eclipse and seems like something fishy is going wrong. Thanks again for your replies

If you want we can set up a TeamViewer session, and I can check it out. I suspect you're just missing a piece of the puzzle! Mark

The links you guys are sending have been very helpful, thank you. I started with the Videos and that is where I got all hung up. The download is wrong and once I found the correct one, SDK; everything started getting better and now can actually see my results; still having other issues like not seeing Google Map page, but I am on my way. Thanks again Ron

Good to hear that things are getting better! For Google maps you'll need a Google Maps API key, which my doc explains how to get. And you won't see actual map tiles until you sign it with your release key. Mark

Hello, I just found this site and decided to give it a go. I have no experience in coding. I downloaded Eclipse for Java developers. I have gone though the tutorials and it seems that nothing looks like the guides or tutorials ? When I click on File I do not get the android project? I do see various android listings under other? Is it because I have a different version of Eclipse? Well, I hope I did not ask to many questions. I am glad to be here and thanks for having me. Thanks, Cheeseman

Hi @cheeseman, Welcome to buzztouch! Please take a look at this step-by-step, illustrated document on buzztouch for Android: http://www.buzztouch.com/resources/buzztouch_For_Android-A_Users_Guide.pdf There is a section on how to set up your development environment correctly. Once you've done that, everything else should fall into place! To address your specific question, though, it sounds like you don't have the Eclipse ADT plugin installed, which is necessary for an Android application. Post back if you continue to have problems! Mark
