My App was rejected 9.4: Video streaming content over a cellular network. HELP?

Hi Buzztouch world. I'm pretty new to this whole thing and have just had my first App rejected for: 9.4: "We found that your app does not use the HTTP Live Streaming protocol, with a baseline stream of 64 kbps, to broadcast streaming video, as required by the App Store Review Guidelines." What I am doing is streaming my videos through VIMEO. After a bit of research (i'm sure i'll be up all night) it seems that pasting in my vimeo embed links does not support what apple wants (lame vimeo) Vimeo has their own iPhone app and my video play just fine??? Does anyone know of a workaround for this problem? Is their a way to set them to require wifi in buzz touch? does apple except that? Is there away to use embedding whatever version vimeo is using in their own app? Any help here would be greatly appreciated. I'm a High school teacher and my students are gonna kill me if i don't get this app up and running! Thanks for any help you can spare.... struggling...

Thanks for the response Fred. I've looked at the link. I think its a little above me and doesn't seem to really solve my problem. very frustrating to have them only list 9.4 as the reason. I was expecting to get rejected for something (I was planning on making some changes) but didn't expect this. And know I'm stuck.... Boooo. thanks anyway. i'll keep trying to find a simple answer.

You can remove the video, submit the app, then add the video after the app is approved. Goes against their rules. Not likely to be an issue. Just be sure your app otherwise is worth publishing. Temporarily embed a video. Later switch it to streaming video via the Control Panel. Downside is some user could be hit on their data plan. Fred

Are you actually doing live streaming or is it an uploaded video file on vimeo?

Ok, that's good. Have you tried youtube, there's a youtube player in BT for Apple and Android, so presumably there's no problem with using that option or it would have been reported by now. Or host on Stage-Vu.com, on there you can view the page source and find the direct video link - use that in a custom url plugin. Or if you're self hosting BT use the apps file store on the server to upload the video and use the url for streaming.

I store the videos on vimeo because they are 2 hours long. Youtube won't let me upload videos that long. The whole thing works great but apparently vimeo won't give me some http streaming thing that I need to have. Very frustrating. The researching continues....

hmmm. There IS a full length movie section on YT, not sure how you submit to it though. I seem to remember you have to activate the option as there's a seperate uploading agreement to accept. Also stage-vu supports full movies. As I say, you can grab the direct streaming url from the page source (the video will be in .avi format). Some free storage providers allow for large file sizes (5+ gig), try a google search for large file storage that allows direct linking.
