[TUTORIAL] Easily Setup the Self Hosted BuzzTouch 2.0

G'day guys, Many of you would have seen my recent post asking for ideas about contributing to the community, and a few people contacted me about writing up a tutorial for installing and setting up the BuzzTouch 2.0 Self Hosted, aimed at new users who don't have a great understanding of FTP or MySQL. I'm pleased to present my v1.0 tutorial.... http://dl.dropbox.com/u/22491277/BuzzTouchServerTutorial.pdf This is the first "published" tutorial I've written, so feel free to let me know of any typos, assumed knowledge issues or just plain mistakes. There are more tutorials to come! Thanks, //J

Great job Javooooo. The only thing I would add (and it doesn't have to be in that tutorial) would be "How to pick a web host". I know there are other guides like that already, but I would assume someone needing a thorough tutorial like you just provided, would likely need advice on hosting as well. Such as: The different types of hosting control panels (I saw you mentioned cPanel, which is the only CP anyone should look for IMO). Knowing how many databases are allowed. Shared vs. VS vs. Dedicated, Testing the load of the shared host, setting up DNS and nameserver settings at your registrar, etc. I'm sure someone has already typed up something like that, so possibly just linking to it with a "Phase 0"? But keep up the good work. We can never have too many Tutes!

Nice one @Javooooo Will have a read when I get to work - last day for two weeks - and get back to you. Agree with the hosting comment, will maybe start a thread to see who uses what and thoughts etc. I use shared plans at EasyCGI for Windoze hosting and Go(spit)Daddy for Linux, happy with both for lo-end plans now that I no longer have my dedicated box. *sighs* These guys might not be in the five nines brigade but get around 98 - 99 uptime.
