The only thing I would add (and it doesn't have to be in that tutorial) would be "How to pick a web host". I know there are other guides like that already, but I would assume someone needing a thorough tutorial like you just provided, would likely need advice on hosting as well. Such as: The different types of hosting control panels (I saw you mentioned cPanel, which is the only CP anyone should look for IMO). Knowing how many databases are allowed. Shared vs. VS vs. Dedicated, Testing the load of the shared host, setting up DNS and nameserver settings at your registrar, etc. I'm sure someone has already typed up something like that, so possibly just linking to it with a "Phase 0"? Agree with the hosting comment, will maybe start a thread to see who uses what and thoughts etc. I use shared plans at EasyCGI for Windoze hosting and Go(spit)Daddy for Linux, happy with both for lo-end plans now that I no longer have my dedicated box. sighs These guys might not be in the five nines brigade but get around 98 - 99 uptime.
