Video works in iOS but not in Android via custom url plugin

Here's one for you; I have a Vimeo hosted video on a simple web page. The only thing on the page is the video and it's specifically formatted for mobile devices. I have a custom url plugin for my app that pulls the page that the video is on. The page/video works fine in the app on an iPhone but it doesn't play on an Android (a Samsung Galaxy S 2 to be specific) in the app. Here's the kicker, though; the video plays perfectly fine if the page is pulled in the Android's native internet browser. It plays and acts just like it should. Why would a video that plays perfectly fine when pulled in a browser not play when pulled while inside the app in Android even though it plays fine in the app in iOS? And (more importantly) how the heck can I fix this? (I have activated the launch in native browser button and this 'fixes' the problem with Android but it would be preferable to just have it launch within the app if that's possible, especially since on my phone the launch in native browser button isn't visible unless I tap the phone's permanent options button.) Thanks.

A previous explanation by David@Buzztouch regarding a similar issue was that the custom URL browser is a more limited browser than the native browser. The native browser is a sophisticated app itself. Don't think it's something you can fix. Hope I got that correct. Fred

Thanks. That makes sense. But is it normal that it would work within the app for iOS but not Android?

I don't know why, but it wouldn't surprise me that this is normal. It's two different sets of code. Fred
