Problems installing SDK code.

I am new to this, so please forgive me! I attempted to install the SDK. It allowed some things to download and install, but not everything. Here is what the installation says when it errors out. Any ideas? Thanks. Done loading packages. Thank you. I tried using the other PDF's and answers to questions that I had seen on other sites. I will delete everything I have and start over as your manual suggests. Thanks. I have a question for you. Since I am not a programmer, would I be better off using http://andromo.com/ which I have used before?

Hi @Konicaman, So, I saw this on adromo's website: "There's no programming required, plus Andromo generates 100% pure native Android apps." That's exactly what happens here at buzztouch! The bonus here, though, is that you have all the source code available if you want to modify your app in ways that you can't beyond what's available in the control panel. But I think if you poke around, you'll find buzztouch provides at least as many features, if not more, than andromo. And I'm pretty sure the community isn't anywhere as good as this one! Hopefully the guide I referenced above gets you up and running. It does things step-by-step. If you run into any issues, just send me an email...my address is at the end of the guide. We can also do a TeamViewer session, and I can get you up and running! Mark

Thanks Mark. I have deleted all of the folders from my previous attempts as your guide suggests. I am a complete novice here, but I can I make one suggestion for your guide? Through trial and error, I found out that my first installation failed because I did not run the installation as the administrator. Your guide does not mention that this is important. Do you think anyone else has this problem? From what I read, this is a problem with all Window versions beyond Vista. Everything is installing right now, and it seems to be proceeding nicely. I went ahead and installed everything as the administrator. Thanks very much for your assistance. I am sure I will contact you again!

On the next step I see that you state to run the Eclipse.exe as administrator. I do have a question at this point. We did I need to install Android 2.3 and 1.6 inside of 4.0?

I got most of it to work. I created my first project as a 4.0 file and got an error message in Eclipse. I then made a new one and select 1.7 as the version in Buzztouch. Each time I get the same basic message: [2012-06-27 09:29:42 - buzzTouch] Android requires compiler compliance level 5.0 or 6.0. Found '1.7' instead. Please use Android Tools > Fix Project Properties. [2012-06-27 10:01:30 - buzzTouch] Unable to resolve target 'Google Inc.:Google APIs:8' How do I fix this?

I installed the Android 4.0 files and Eclipse now gives me this error code: [2012-06-27 12:00:56 - buzzTouch] Unable to resolve target 'Google Inc.:Google APIs:8'

Hi Konicaman, Make sure you have the Google APIs, along with the Eclipse ADT plugin install. This document will show you how: http://www.buzztouch.com/resources/buzztouch_For_Android-A_Users_Guide.pdf You probably have the Android API's installed, but not the Google ones. The document has a picture, with a red highlighted box, on exactly what needs to be included. Mark

Mark, Thanks for your continued information. I have already installed the Google API's under Android 4.0 and Android 1.6. Apparently, this is not the problem. I selected everything that your guide suggested. This is becoming very frustrating. I'm about to give up! I would have already without your assistance. Thanks so much for your assistance.

Hi! Please don't give up! We're so close! You actually don't need the Google APIs under Android 4, but you do need the ones under Android 2.2 (API8) if your buzztouch project is v1.5 or v2.0, which I think it probably is. Once you install those APIs, I bet you'll be good! And remember...this is all Android/Eclipse issue...nothing related to buzztouch's code (aside from the API requirement). Once we get this going, it should be smooth sailing! If you'd like, we can arrange for a TeamViewer session and I can get you going. Just let me know. Mark

I see API's for almost everything except for 2.2. Here is what is listed under 2.2: SDK Platform - Installed Samples for SDK - Not Installed Dual Screen API - Not Installed Real 3d - Not Installed Galaxy Tab - Not Installed ------------------------- I do see API's under 3.0, 2.3.3, and 2.1. I am going to try to install those just in case.

That's very odd. There should be Google API listed under Android 2.2. Do you have the Eclipse ADT plugin installed? Without the Google APIs under 2.2 installed, it simply won't work. Those are required. Mark

Mark, thanks for all the assistance. I thought I was close to getting it. However, it seems now that I've lost ground. I think I am about ready to give up. You had mentioned a TeamViewer situation. What is that and how does it work? Thanks.
