Open BT Source Code in Storyboard

Does anyone know if this is possible? I don't know what version the 2.0 BT engine compiles at. Obviously there isn't a storyboard file but there isn't a .xib file either...is this because BT source code is just a bunch of .h and .m files? Thanks

I understand what you mean, but I am not sure. If you look at the files in the navigator area, you see that a BT project is compiled differently from a regular Xcode project. I am sure that there is a storyboard but it would be in a different location. Munny1

Well now that I think about it, I don't think there is a storyboard. Probably because BT thought that everything is pretty much in their app developing area so you would not need the storyboard. What do you need the Mainstoryboard.storboard file for? This page might help: http://developer.apple.com/library/ios/#DOCUMENTATION/iPhone/Conceptual/iPhone101/Articles/01_CreatingProject.html

I wanted to build on the BT app....there is so little control vs: building from Xcode. Wanted to marry them together. I may look into custom plug-ins....its just building an app in xcode is almost as easy as BuzzTouch why not work with both if you can. I def can see how a BT app has its need. StoryBoard is a dream to work in though....

The BT iOS sourcecode builds all the UI elements dynamically, so it doesn't require any .xibs. But it doesn't mean you can't use them. My last 4 apps use .xibs for screens that function outside of BT. And BT ties them all together perfectly.

@Stobe I agree. BT and Xcode tie together quite well, but you have to watch what files you stick in Xcode because you never know what Xcode and BT won't agree on.

@Isills81, that's a question that goes way beyond the scope of a forum post. They best place to start would be the IOS tutorials in BTU. After that, find some books and start playing. I promise you, it all starts making sense after some good old fashion learning and playing!

@Stobe you realize that there is nothing in the BTU that covers this (BTU is very elementary)....could you please just point me in the the correct path. If not is there a post (I have searched) that gives in good detail how to create a custom plugin in BTv2.0? NOT the PDF that is included in the Self-Hosting section. Thank you. PS: Why did you use .xibs instead of Storyboard. I though in Xcode .xibs were replaced buy Storybord.

I haven't used Storyboard yet. I thought it was basically a tool to mock up your app (for your client, and/or dev team) and eventually convert the mockups to xibs. I just go straight to the xibs personally. Probably not the preferred method, but it works for me. As far as any tutorial on how to create a custom plugin in 2.0? You have to first realize that a custom plugin is basically just a custom class (.m and .h files). But to make it a true "plugin" to be used with 2.0, you need to include the correct php file to provide the user to customize the settings of the class (titlebar text, bg color, bg image, etc). What I have been doing is creating the custom class, without the php configuration screen, and configuring everything manually (again, not the intended method, but it is productive for me). Making a class is somewhat covered in BTU, but is covered much better with most iPhone dev books, or online courses.

I think that the StoryBoard story is going much deeper than that (being just a mock-up). Open a new project in Xcode, using storyboards, and you will find a significantly simpler base project, for example, using a Tabbed project. Not just missing xib's, but so many lines of code not required to register views etc. I am a novice in this area, but this seems a significant reduction to what appeared to be a very complex arrangement to a visual user experience.
