Screen Background Image not working for me

Im using self hosted 2.0 with the simple menu list screen plugin I wanted to add a background to the list menu to make it look cool instead of just having one color for all the rows, i wanted to add a nice image in the background, but the image doesnt show? i tried image URL and i also tried image file name that i had in eclipse, both doesnt show anyone out there can help me?

dare you using menu rows? if you are they may be covering your image. try making the color of your rows clear

"Message: Creating default object from empty value" (not related to the background image issue) but are you running the latest self hosted package? 2.1.7. I think this was fixed in the latest release. Yup, says it is. See the change log in the latest download. OK, background image: What does the output console (LogCat in Eclipse) show for the background image? It should show you were it's looking for the image (a URL or in the project). It's a matter of determining... a) If the background image is loading or not. b) If not, why. c) If yes, then it's a matter of getting the menu to show transparent items like @Calypso Kid suggested. I'll be the image isn't loading and I'll also bet the LogCat shows why ;-)

When you say the LogCat "doesn't say anything" do you mean it doesn't say anything useful for this issue or doesn't say anything at all. Filter the LogCat by the tag "zz" and it will show you all the buzztouch Debugger messages. These messages will tell you lots of info about what's loading and not loading. I'm certain the background image is listed in the LogCat with details about "finding it" or "not finding it" or downloading it, etc. Note: Images in Android go in the /drawable folder if you're using one in your project ;-)

Maybe create a different screen type using the same background settings to make sure the image is loading like you expect. I'm not convinced it is. After you make sure the background image is loading (these are usually very reliable so I'm not sure why yours isn't loading as expected) use the same settings on your menu screen. Then, get the rows to show transparent. If this app is hosted here, I'm happy to have a look at it to see what could be happening. I'll need the image you're using and I'll need to know.. a) The app name as it appears in your control panel. b) The screen you're working on that doesn't seem to show it. c) The image itself so I can add it to the project.

Hello David, the closest I got last night was I put the image in "global theme" and it appeared for a second in between clicking the menu in the rows. I have the self hosted control panel if you want I can send you the login details

With my project that does not use self-hosted control panel, the background image works ok if set in "global settings".
