Scringo install error

Just tried installing scringo, Libs installed ok but when I try to import scringo resources folder I get this error - "[2012-06-24 11:09:40 - ScringoResources] Project has no project.properties file! Edit the project properties to set one." Anyone have any ideas? D

Hi David, I did use his guide, but nothing seems to happen. I've added an extra menu item which directs to a blank screen. I've added the following to BT_screen_blank.java ________________________________________________________________________ public class BT_screen_blank extends BT_activity_base{ private boolean didCreate = false; private ScringoAgent scringoAgent = new ScringoAgent(); ________________________________________________________________________ And changed the following :- protected void onStart() { //BT_debugger.showIt(activityName + ":onStart"); super.onStart(); scringoAgent.start(this); } and... protected void onStop(){ super.onStop(); //BT_debugger.showIt(activityName + ":onStop"); scringoAgent.stop(); } The document says to include :- Scringo.setDebugMode(true); Scringo.init(this); in the onCreate..... where is that? I'm using V2 for this. Tried butting the last few lines in a few different places and it comes up with an error, if there is no error I'm just getting a blank screen..... (although I am using the blank screen action....) D

Yhup, working well. Only issue is that it is well "hidden", invisible! If you did not know it was there you could only find it by accident. I'll post a video as soon as I can. D

I have been trying to get this to work. I have everything installed as per @Fred's guide. But I am getting errors in my activity file at: scringoAgent.start(this); (where scringoAgent has the red line) Am i missing a import step somewhere? Thanks in advance.

DeckG how did you resolve this issue: "[2012-06-24 11:09:40 - ScringoResources] Project has no project.properties file! Edit the project properties to set one." Can you provide clear instructions as I'm totally lost on how to get pass section 2 of Fred's tutorial.

Hi Dragon007 - see above - just copied over another project.properties file and it worked ok. Simple as that. The file does not contain much information and is pretty generic. Copy it into the same location in your app that has the scringo library (usually the root of the project) Here is my project.properties file- # This file is automatically generated by Android Tools. # Do not modify this file -- YOUR CHANGES WILL BE ERASED! # # This file must be checked in Version Control Systems. # # To customize properties used by the Ant build system use, # "ant.properties", and override values to adapt the script to your # project structure. # Project target. target=Google Inc.:Google APIs:8 android.library=true Hope this helps, Derek

p.s. the 'android.library=true ' part will be erased if you do not classify the scringo package as a library.

@DeckG That would be great if you could do that. I have setup the whole SDK, but got stuck at one error on my activity file. It was as if i was missing a import line for Scringo

Hi DeckG thanks for the reply, unfortunately, I am still uncertain about where I copy this file or indeed how I add the resource folder in the first place. I'm with Nish and Intrege; if you are able to put a step by step guide or better still a video tutorial that would really help the cause.

Hi DeckG this is the part I just don't get: b. ScringoResources (folder) - Import this project into your eclipse workspace (File -> Import... -> Existing projects into workspace -> Browse) and add it as an Android Library Project used by your app (Right-click your Android App Project -> Properties -> Android -> under "Library" click Add... -> Select ScringoResources -> OK -> OK)

I get as far as: 1. Right click on app project 2. click 'Existing Projects into Workspace 3. Select Root Directory and select the ScringoResources Folder; Just below is projects and in this box the scringoresources is selected 4. click finish then these errors come up. The ScringoResources folder is currently outside of my app project. This is where I am stuck and confused as my process is different to your tutorial (I think) as I don't see option to add to Android Library Project during the my process.

i followed the steps of DeckG and i think its not important one should import the scringo resources .. you just need to copy the files in scringo resources to our apps folders respectively but i do face same problem its hidden u need to pull it out..but there shld be a solution for that

I would appreciate if you do a step wise tutorial. Here is the procedure to obtain app key from facebook. 1. First create a Facebook app. Go to https://developers.facebook.com/apps and create a new app 2. Your newly created Facebook app will have an ID, which can be found on your Facebook Developer page 3.1 Export the hash key from your Android keystore. All Android apps are required to be signed prior to running on a device and you will already have created a keystore while building your Android app. 3.2 Your keystore contains a public key which Facebook needs to identify your Android app. 3.3 On your development machine (where you are building your Android app), run the following command to generate a key hash: keytool -exportcert -alias androiddebugkey -keystore ~/.android/debug.keystore | openssl sha1 -binary | openssl base64 3.4 Make sure you use the correct key store to generate the hash. The example above (taken from the Facebook documentation) indicates use of the debug.keystore. You should use whichever keystore you chose when building the version of your app you are going to publish. 4. Next add your key hash to your Facebook app. Paste your key into the “key hash” section of your Facebook app.

Steps to create twitter app: 1. First create a Twitter app. Go to https://dev.twitter.com/ and create a new app 2. When creating the app, make sure you specify a callback URL. This can be any value, and is not actually called during authentication but Twitter requires a valid URL for callback otherwise authentication will fail. 3. Change the permissions on the app to Read/Write The default permissions for new Twitter Apps is Read Only, this must be changed to Read/Write. Your Twitter Consumer Key and Consumer Secret is also displayed on this page
