Editing Your Name, Other Ideas?

Hi everyone, Fred had some good ideas in my previous forum problem but we hit a road block: http://www.buzztouch.com/forum/thread.php?tid=6FC693D3D2753EE72B0ED38&fid=BC70C36A743CD4FAD95D17F&sortColumn=FT.id&sortUpDown=DESC&currentPage=1 I am reposting the question to see if all you buzztouch geniuses out there can help me out (this means you: David, GoNorthWest, Fred, and everyone else I can't remember off the top of my head). So here is my reposted question: Hi, I am not trying to be super complicated as this is my first app, so I am making an app that allows you to create shopping lists. My issue is that my app's Home Screen is a Home Screen Menu. I was wondering if it was possible for users to actually add new menu items and to customize those menu items' name. The reason for this is that I would like the home screen to be the different shopping lists the user has. I would then like the user to be able to add lists and customize the names for their list. ----- So anyone out there, please help me out! (This forum post would be epically long if I had to post all my thanks to you all, so...) THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH!

What solutions have you implemented so far, and what roadblocks have you hit? Mark

We came out with this: We could use localStorage to let users edit the names of the menu items. We thought that we could use jQuery Mobile to add an editable text field and then link it up with the menu items... I think? Fred said: "using localStorage to let users edit their names in the menu items. 'their' name: have user enter name in a editable text field. (See jQuery Mobile for how-to) I would be really appreciative if you could explain how I would use localStorage to let users edit the names of the menu items Use same method as above. Fred" "Yes, just spent some time reading this. That for the input but I don't see the storage. Thought there was an editable option. Fred" He also mentioned something about write.document for adding menu items... I do not really know what he means by any of what he was saying so maybe someone could explain or figure out another option? Thanks so much!
