Manual for work

I have a manual that I carry around for work all the time and i am trying to figure the best rout to make it into a usable app. It was created in indesign. What would be the easiest way to make an app? PDF? Word? any help would be great.

Hi @needles, Welcome to buzztouch! I agree with @ceerup...PDF works pretty darn well on most devices. You could break up the manual into sections and create different menu items for the different sections. Or, if it's a single manual...just copy it over to your phone/device and use an existing app, like AdobeReader, to view it. Mark

If you want links PDF & Word can be good. The ebook plugin is very good. HTML is also good. Fred

Yea it is broken up into 10 different sections and would like the app to go to each section through the main menu. I just am new and did not know what way was the best to do it. Thank you for your suggestions. Justin

Here is what I would do. Works for both Android and iOS: * Create a Menu List for your home screen. Link this menu list to your Home Screen in the Layout section of your control panel. * Create a PDF Screen (if that's the format you choose) for each of the 10 sections of the book. You'll need to have 10 different PDF files, and you specify the file that gets brought up for that screen. * Create 10 menu items on your Menu List screen, and link each to a different PDF screen. Then give it a run through your emulator and see how it works! Mark

Without trying to put you off BT, the easiest way would be outputting the guide as an .epub archive and use an ebook reader such as the kindle app. .epubs are just zipped html, css and xml files.

I think I want it to be more interactive then just a readable book. I want to be able to reference things a little bit quicker.

I thought indesign could produce fully interactive content that can be exported as epub? That's why I mentioned it.
