But I have heard something about ranking related to the number of and quality of your reviews of the current version. Until you get 5 new reviews, it may revert to averaging all of your total versions. So if you had a ton of good reviews, and then you update and have very few reviews, that's where you may see the hit until the reviews catch back up. But that's completely hear-say.
