[How-To] buzztouch for Android: A User's Guide

Hello! Just wanted to take a few moments to announce my latest How-To guide. It's called "buzztouch for Android: A User's Guide" and it can be found here on buzztouch: http://www.buzztouch.com/resources/buzztouch_For_Android-A_Users_Guide.pdf This is largely a compilation of documents I have previously written, but with quite a bit of new material as well. Many topics have been improved from their first version documents. Here's a list of what you'll find: 1. Welcome! 2. Sign Up For buzztouch 3. Basic Hardware and Software Requirements 4. Setting Up Your Android Development Environment (Mac OS X) 5. Setting Up Your Android Development Environment (Windows) 6. Configuring Your Android Virtual Device (AVD) 7. Compiling and Running Your App 8. Adding Files To Your Project 9. All About Keystores and Signing 10. Getting A Google Maps API Key 11. Publishing Your App to Google Play 12. Common Problems and Solutions 13. Problem Reporting and Basic Debug 14. Final Thoughts I strive to create clear, step-by-step, illustrated instructions on how to accomplish the many tasks involved with development. To that end, I would appreciate any constructive feedback you might have. Hope this helps you be successful in your Android app development quest! And, yep, an iOS one is in the works...but won't be ready for a bit. Thanks! Mark

Welcome @Robeerto! Have a read at @GoNorthWest's tutorials for all things BT, Xcode and Eclipse. There is no better person to follow in here and he has BT in his blood.

Thanks all for the warm welcome! I've got a few ideas and looking for more for some newbie apps for me to develop to get my feet wet. Don't want to overdo it at first. Have already been checking out @GoNorthWest's Android User Guide - it rocks.

I suggest reading everything you can taking all courses even if you don't plan on developing for that OS the more you know the more it helps . When all else fail I email Mark :).

I agree with Methid2maddness - read as much you can, especially the document on Online vs. Offline app (you can find that at buzztouch.com/resources). I'm always willing to help, and engage in TeamViewer sessions if you need help setting things up! I reply to ALL emails! Mark

Well, I don't have a Mac so I was just going to go the Android route, but maybe I'll at least do the BTU course on iOS just to learn something.
