Eclipse error

Hello, I have two issues: 1. I thought everything was set up and ready to use in Eclipse but when I downloaded the HelloFred test app I got hundreds of errors and a message saying "Your program contains errors please fix them before running your application." Since this is Buzztouches' own test app I assume there is something wrong with my set up. 2. I rebooted and started Eclipse again and it gave me this message on start up : [2012-06-18 22:54:33 - RDI] Android requires compiler compliance level 5.0 or 6.0. Found '1.7' instead. Please use Android Tools > Fix Project Properties. I have searched everywhere for Android Tools. I must be blind. Any advice for either of these issues? Thanks. Linda

HelloFred is my test app, and I'm not Buzztouch. For Android Tools right click on the Eclipse project. Read The Buzztouch Process (Android) for a walk through www.MySkylla.com Fred

Hi Linda, In order to get the Android Tools option, you'll need to have the Android Development Tools plugin for Eclipse (Eclipse ADT) installed. Here's a document that shows you how to do all that: http://www.buzztouch.com/resources/Setting_Up_Your_Android_Development_Environment_v1.3.pdf If you've already installed the ADT, then in the Package Explorer pane (usually on the left side), highlight your buzzTouch application, right-click, and select Android Tools...Fix Project Properties. Hi Mark and Fred, I have been reading and searching for information regarding the 'Fix Project Properties' message for days, I didn't think to Right click! Fortunately I had already installed the ADT but am still having problems. In summary : 1. The same error message comes up when I try to run HelloFred,ie "Your program contains errors please fix them before running your application." Anything I can do about this? 2. However I have also downloaded my own app (called RDI which is really nothing at this point but I wondered how it would fare with all these error messages) and it seems to get a little further, now the AVD does not open. This is despite the little green ticks in the AVD Manager, I also followed the instructions identically when setting it up with regards to the Platform, API level and Target. I pasted the message below, it tells me to "Panic" :) [2012-06-19 22:29:00 - RDI] ------------------------------ [2012-06-19 22:29:00 - RDI] Android Launch! Hi Agroof, That's a new one! It appears that it's a pathing issue...Eclipse can't find the emulator or something like that. I'd suggest deleting your current emulator definition, and create a new one. I usually call mine 'Buzztouch_v1.5,' perhaps your emulator name is too long? I also found some info at stackoverflow.com that might be helpful. But before going there, I'd delete your current emulator, and try adding it again. http://stackoverflow.com/questions/6936230/android-emulator-error2011-08-02-111401-emulator-panic-could-not-open-c Mark
