iOS Push Notifications with Parse

After 2 days and 5 tutorials and help from the AMAZING BT community I seem to have the whole Apple Push Notifications using Parse thing licked. I am on Xcode 4.3 and self-hosted BT 2.0 and Free BT 1.5 version. The point being if enough people need...I can do a tutorial or video. Finding a complete step by step by step tutorial didn't seem to be out there so I wouldn't mind helping out. Thanks again for all the help BT community!!!

You would save a lot of people a lot of headaches if you did a video. I can only speak for myself but I always prefer tutorials in video form if I can get 'em that way. Push notifications are a pain but it's satisfying when you finally get them to work.

OK....got it. Thanks. Will post a YouTube link for both setting up Parse as a New Project and Existing Project. Also will post a video showing the whole provisioning process on developer.apple.com. I will include a text file for all the code written and with the steps taken. I am NOT a teacher by any means.....please don't judge me :p

def would appreciate this if you make it! still yet to get around to adding Parse, but that should be changing soon. are you playing with more than just the Push? I've been holding out for the BT Push Notification feature and keeping an eye on Parse. but the Data Management stuff looks very useful, really want to get some time to look at that closer and see how useful it is vs building my own with SQL Lite. so many new dev resources to play with out there! i'm just starting to have success with Aviary in my app, want to finish that and Picture.io first before i work with Parse! not enough time!

"Like" lsills81. This would be a huge help. Think you could publish the links to your tutorials on this thread so we don't miss the update?

Yes of course....I see that you are "Lost and trying" is there anything else you would like to see in the tutorials? I will have these Push Notifications and Apple Provisioning tutorials up this evening. I received a lot of help from the BT community so I am happy to return the favor.

Yep, still "lost but trying", but all the help on Buzztouch forums makes it worth the effort.

I would greatly appreciate a video on how to integrate Push Notifications in my app. Will I be able to do this with a v1.5 app?

Done...there is a link to a zip file from my Drop Box in the description on YouTube, it is legit! Wasn't sure how else to offer the code and images and the Parse SDK with the video to go along with the tutorial. Part 1: This is just the Apple provisioning part http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DHG7V8q0I_E Part 2: This is the Parse.com and Xcode (BONUS: Code Signing too) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vzmqCij-V1I Enjoy :P

Followed the video tutorials and discovered that Xcode gives an error saying Parse does not support armv6 when I try importing my app onto my 2nd Generation iPod Touch running IOS 4.2.1. Runs fine in the 4. 3 simulator .

@ lsills81, The silver bullet for me was to revoke and re-generate the certificates. I had read many times that the certificates can be tricky but didn't want to believe anything was wrong with mine. I was out of ideas and finally broke down and created new ones. I'm sure glad I did. :-) As far as the differences between my app and a BT app, the code from your Step 1 matched up pretty well with my non BT app. For Step 2, my app didn't have a marker for the //load data section of the code. So I had to guess where to insert it by placing it among another "- (void)application:...." lines of code that was present.
