Server Migration produces an SQL error (i think)

"An error ocurred in the fnDbGetResult() method in utilityFunctions.php (4)" I had web servers all over the place and I decided it would be more cost effective to consolidate them all into one large server. The only place where I got hung up was moving my databases... After working through all of export/restore issues I had what seemed like my old BTServer back up and running, all my apps work, no complaints or errors reported. However, when I try to edit the apps (the time has come to update one with new content) or create a new app I get this error anytime I click on pages in the "Screens / Actions" section. "An error ocurred in the fnDbGetResult() method in utilityFunctions.php (4)" Im sure this is due to some difference and my guess is either in the contents of the database (i think its unlikely) or its in the version of php / sql. Before I break it further, I figured id ask if anyone knows more about this than I. Any help is greatly appreciated as always.

Question. What server do you use for your database? Because I'm blocked from editting my table thru my app. Could use a new hosting company

Godaddy. Everything was fine until I migrated. (I was Godaddy before as well, just bought a better scaling service)

Still getting the error, any one with more SQL / PHP knowledge than I want to take a crack at this one? Tried updating to 2.1.7 but like I stated, I think its actually an issue with php... I think...

I did, my fear is that my apps still work but they cant be updated. I dont want to make them not work, while trying to regain the ability to edit them. No matter how much I want to, Im not messing with anything else until I get an outside opinion. I guess my worse case scenario is start another server and move the apps that need editing to it... but thats a full rebuild of several things and rather time consuming if ultimately I can just edit the table or reset / reinstall old php / restore again. But thats what got me here in the first place... /sigh

I hear you. Do you have a table being updated by php in any of your apps?

If you are trying to utilize database information from an external source (like an app, Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio Express or MySQL Query Browser), you may need to enable Direct Database Access. Direct Database Access is a less secure way to manage your hosted databases which most users do not require. If you do not need to access your database remotely, then you should not enable Direct Database Access. Most hosting companies allow for direct access, but this is not usually a setting you can change on existing databases. Try creating a new database with direct access and see if it resolves your issue.

Let me know what you figure out, also as a reference... Who is your host?

I see. Optimum online is the culprit. Costs $10 / month to add another. I will have to delete a php blog I have. Decisions decisions.

My friend thank you for your help. I called and had settings reset. This allowed me to insert to tables. Wow!

Hi did either one of you figure out what was the cause of this issue also here you able to get it resolved? I see this issue randomly on my self hosted server on applications that have ALOT of\ screens but I do not have the issue on apps with a lower number of screens. I believe my issue is related to time out because of slowness on my hosting provider but I am no expert so I am hoping someone has a magic solution..... Thanks in advance

Hi guys, After David's suggestion fo turning ON error reporting, I received the error: "the table bt_items is marked as crashed and should be repaired" I ran (without qoutes): "REPAIR TABLE mytablename_items;" in a SQL in PHPMYADMIN and it solved the: fnExecuteNonQuery() method in utilityFunctions.php (6) error. Thank you David! Hope this helps others. David https://buzztouchmods.com
