http://www.domainName/BT-server/install

this does not seem to work. I have installed the bt server to the root of my website. changed the number to 755 that put in my website name + bt-server/install and I get a 404 message. any suggestions

404 "page not found" messages are the internet standard for not being able to, um, find a page. I doubt the page is actually missing (you uploaded everything right). Some web hosting companies show this 404 error message for any type of issue PHP may have encountered when they should show a more detailed error message instead. You'll need to figure out why your backend is delivering a 404 "page not found" error for a file you know you uploaded. Seems crazy but again, it's a matter of how your host is setup. I would bet that there is a PHP permission issue going on. You did the recursive 755 thing - have you check the actual file permissions to make sure PHP can execute in your directories? You can do this on the command line of your server.
