No google APIs in SDK, also can't update from r15 to r19

I've looked everywhere online, but I can't find any one with my exact problem. OS=Win7x64 So I'm following the setup pdf and I get to page 10 only to notice that "Google APIs by Google Inc." Doesn't show up anywhere. I double, triple, quadruple check the url I entered to the add-on site and it's correct. I google around and every answer I find is someone talking about a "fetch error." I don't have any fetch errors. When I enter in the url the green loading bar shoots along, loading packages, but no Google APIs. I read somewhere that possibly my anti-virus could be messing something up, so I disabled all of that. Nothing. I look at the version of SDK that I have and it's r15. I remove it and install r18 (the latest on the Android SDK site). But then that one refuses to recognize my Java. *head meet desk* So I spend an hour trying to find a solution to that so I can continue. None of them work. I even create an environmental variable JAVA_HOME like it says, and point it right at my java.exe file. No dice. Everyone also says "Hey, just hit Back and then Next again and it will magically work!" Well no it doesn't. Not for me at least. So I then delete r18 and reinstall r15. It finds Java fine. I open up r15 and it says I can download the Android SDK tools package r19, along with Platform tools r11. When I try to do that, I get this error: http://i.imgur.com/dnpzp.png I tried manually doing it, but the folder was locked. I download a 3rd party unlocker and unlock the file and hit "YES" to continue. Program continues, installs r19, gives me a message about how it found Java, but that I need to add another environmental variable. I do that, close out of the new error message telling me to do that and then the program crashes. I try reinstalling r18 after having added that new variable to PATH as prompted by r15, but r18 still refuses to recognize my java. I've run SDK manager in admin mode, I've even tried renaming the folders manual. Nothing works. I feel like I'm about to pull my hair out. Any suggestions?

Hi! I would recommend that you use 32-bit everything. Seems to work much better! I've written a new, improved install procedure. Send an email to MrkFleming at gmail dot com and I'll hook you up! Mark

Hey Fred, Ok, I've been trying to follow your guide but it's a bit confusing. I found the buzztouch process section, then the "installing eclipse, java, sdk, adt" section. I have eclipse downloaded (the right one for my OS). Next I downloaded your installer. (SDK r16) I install it (This one finds Java no problem) and when I go to run the SDK Manager.exe A command prompt window briefly flashes and vanishes, and that's it. Nothing else loads. I've run the exe in administrator, and I've check to make sure it's unblocked. The link you have for "Android SDK cannot detect JDK" is the same "back then next" thing I've tried and haven't had success with. I could go back and install r18 again, but then I'd have the "can't find Java" issue. I don't see any other solutions other than the back/next thing or editing "PATH" in environmental variables to include the path to the Java exe.

Are you using the 64 bit version, if so try the 32 bit version. Fred
