Run iOS apps in BlackBerry Tablet

Very interesting article. http://m.blogs.cio.com/blackberry/17159/playbook-tablet-runs-blackberry-android-andios-apps?mm_ref=http%3A%2F%2Fm.cio.com%2Ftopic%2F3061%2FMobile_Wireless He claims he's running some iOS apps in his PlayBook Tablet. Combined with Cydia this could be a game changer. Suggest Buy RIM it's down to $10/share. Fred

Lots of powerful things you can do with Cydia. That community is crazy with developer minds ;) David buzztouchmods.com

Hahaha, I'd like to see how long this will last if it becomes the norm. You thought Apple had fun suing Samsung over and over again. They'll put RIM out of business in one shot.

RIM is not behind it. Don't have the link but another hacker is running some iOS apps on Android devices. Fred

RIM announced earlier this year that they were going to stop developing the PlayBook...right after I earned one through their developer challenge! My assessment of the PlayBook is that, aside from the HD Video playback...it's substandard. There isn't a single app I have found in the app store that I would spend money on. The unit as a whole is heavy and hard to hold. The GUI is non-intuitive in many ways. The app that I created for their developer challenge...the one they approved and awarded me a PlayBook for...won't install on mine! I'd suggest you run away from any RIM stock. They may be around for their phones, but that's about it. Mark

RIM certainly has it's challanges, it's even a takeover target (hello Microsoft), but it's not out. Read recently that metro 8 will sell more tablets than iPad by 2014. (Clearly a guess) Android tablets are now the preferred choice for business. Point is that it's not only Android vs. iOS, but a bigger game with many potential outcomes. Fred

I'm a windows guy, and I can't see Windows Tablets competing with iPad. Heck all of the Android Tablets based on sales can't compete with iPad (competing in the quantity factor, possibly only because they are many that are dirt cheap). However it always comes down to sales. Money always wins. As for RIM, they are stuck in 2008, there is no way anyone will buy them out. Unless all the patents that they own are included in the sale. Thats the only enticing factor. This pattern will continue for at few years, unless one of the software providers comes up with something evolutionary. http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2402817,00.asp
