How can I see existing apps so I dont reinvent the wheel?

I am an odd person in that I dont own a smartphone. How can I test out existing apps so I dont reinvent the wheel? On Android? On Apple?

I guess the questions is about if where is the app gallery to see the existing (popular ones, besides Apple Store. Thanks, Haotian

Google Play will show you the available Android apps! Same concept as iTunes store. Mark

Thanks. It is always good experiencing more existing apps so that getting familiar exiting features (and plugins) before creating new ones. Haotian
