I think you still have to create the ipa file using Xcode, correct? I can't imagine that you could download the source code from buzztouch and use cydia to install it on your jailbroken phone (without compiling it in Xcode). Fred - am I wrong on this? Mark

There is no alternative to Xcode...period. It is required to compile apps that run on iOS or OS X. No way around it at all. Well, you could run OS X on a virtual machine using VMware and then run Xcode as well...but there are TONS of license issues with that. Mark

As I understand it you use Xcode to create the binary that you upload to a repo. Fred

How-To guide using a Mac. Apparently using a Mac is optional but how to with out a Mac is not explained. Fred http://thebigboss.org/hosting-repository-cydia/submit-your-app/compile-for-cydia-submission

So, this involves Theos, which has to be run on a Mac or Linux box. But there are no instructions for Linux, so you're stuck with Mac. In which case you could just download Xcode, which is available free. https://developer.apple.com/xcode/ Still no way to subvert Xcode requirement using Windows. Mark

I used to have a cydia repo, took a long time to set up, but managed to get it to work. Cydia uses the file format .deb (debian) If your not much experienced, you can set up your own repo on some website for FREE and it gives you a url for the repo, If your more interested, let me know and I can look through my history and bookmarks from the past and find it. Just email me- [email protected] I used to upload apps/themes to cydia, but now I don't since other repos crack the file and give it out for free, example repo: http://ihacksrepo.com/ But it would be great for beginners to start with. hope this helps.
