Using another Device Magic Forms within my own App?

So I've been using Device Magic to create forms to be used on my iPad, I have also built an App using Buzztouch, I want the App I have created to be able to open the device magic form. Is it possible to just link the App without having to fiddle around with APIs and authentication etc??? Thanks in advance. Nick.

Nick, Have you considered JotForm? They provide a link you can simply link, or you can use their HTML code. I'll have a look at Device Magic and get back to you.

No, just that Device Magic kinda offered all the support. i.e. ability to take images and submit form data straight into a google doc. Its not the end of the world as we know it if I can't get it linked to the app but it would certainly help, I know they provide the api but theres not much helpful info for us new aspiring Devs.

Hey mate, Looks like you triple posted. Just spoke to their support quickly, sounds like they don't have an embeddable web version. They said you can only use them through their own dedicated, branded app. // J

Cheers man, oops! I must have refreshed one to many times. So that means theres no way to point towards the App through my own? Nick.

Not really; unless they had a URL scheme. Either way it would make the user experience quite shifty , and the customer support rep hinted that you would need extensive licenses to be ALLOWED to do that by the company. I'd STRONGLY recommend checking out JotForm or another heavily customisable web interface that would let you embed the form via HTML or a web view screen. Alternatively, create a mobile website and create the form yourself (I've done this several times so that I could skin the form nicely). // J

Hey mate, Yeah, use the custom URL option, or embed it into a HTML page. Just let me know if you need help once you've setup the form. // J

Thanks for the help, it seemed like a perfect option but it massive downside for me is that you can't integrate a camera function!? Unless you know of any others i think I'm going to have to keep it as a separate app. A little frustrating. Nick.

May I ask what you need the app to do (you can PM me if you'd like)? I can usually find a solution for most apps. You could consider having the form, and the image uploader/emailer through BT separately. Just a possibility.

I don't mind post in in here might be useful for someone else. I am building a form to be used by engineers for the company I work for. The form will be filled out in the field (usually with no internet signal) on iPads, the form must include photo + signature functionality one photo is to be taken per form submission . We need the functionality back in the office to be able to change the forms if the engineers make mistakes etc. This is were google doc comes in, the form is submitted to google spreadsheet where the info is compiled and sent to another spreadsheet in the correct form layout, this form is then emailed as a PDF to the customers with an invoice... Device Magic is the perfect choice for this although you do have to pay a monthly subscription per device (expensive) and you can't integrate within another App. Nick.

True, true, bit complicated for JotForm. Maybe Device Magic is the right way to do it? Maybe just pay for one month, trial it, and see if you can get your company to fund the program? // J

@nick Device Magic looks interesting. I'm seeing they offer API's but you are right, this doesn't look like code you can download and copy/use in another app. It looks like they generate the code and push it out to registered devices. I wonder if writing a front END in BT that points to Device magic links the end users would eventually end up at would be pretty useful? Want to look at it more as i can see this being useful for a project. Thanks for the tip!
