Background Image mis-behaving, or maybe i am???

Ok, This app creating malarki i've signed up is taking way too long now, yet i keep on coming back for more torture :) After much help from various people on here Ive moved onto really just look&feel stuff now. I have a background image, from a URL which I host on my external server, that I would like to have as the background to the majority of my screens. I have set the ones i would like it to appear in individually (same image for both large and small device) and also set this url as the background image in the main app settings. However, the background only appears on a couple of screens, which happen to be the menu buttons and custom html5 screens. This is an issue as I dont want the background to be the image for the html screens, and would like it to appear on every other screen, including the menu simple screens (which it isnt). Has anyone come across something similar? I must admit (my only real criticism of bt) that the search function on the forum isnt great! Cheers, Aaron

First thing. It would be better to use 2 images for large and small device unless you have tested and it looks good, even scaling down from a large iPad image to iPhone can go wrong. You can set individual screen backgrounds and colours for each page and override the theme settings. Have you looked at advanced settings?

To be honest MacApple I've tried so many settings screens I dont know where I've changed! Judging by the middle point above I would imagine my best bet is to set the image in the theme, then where I don't want it I can select plain backgrounds to overide the theme (such as for the html screens) I'm flying out to the states next week, hoping the weather is better than here!!! Cheers, Aaron

You got it. I do the same thing. Make sure you update the config.txt file in Xcode when you do. It's a learning curve for sure and on occasion it can go wrong but tinker, change and explore. If your app isn't live there'll be no harm done. Coming to the states? Cool. I moved here from Bonny Scotland 8 yrs ago, weather is just a touch better. Where you off to?

Connecticut, doing some kind of bicrosoft boot camp my office have set up! Its an android application to start with, i would imagine the same still applies but simply rebuilding into eclipse and re-deploying to test device, rather than changing config.txt. I ahvent done this yet, just been relying on the live update changes, worth a pop when i finish work! Thanks for your help Mac Apple (again) Cheers, Aaron

Happy days. Between NY and Boston, will you get a chance to see either city? If you do, do! Let me (us) know if you get it, if not one of the Android ninjas will jump in.

Still not working im afraid, have clean built and everything! I have decided to continue with just basic colors, and look at the background image later on, to avoid slipping behing my ever-extending deadline! Thanks for your input though MacApple, as always its much appreciated! Cheers, Aaron

Something nit right somewhere. Ping me back when you go back at it, I use HD background images in most apps and change individual backgrounds to plain colour when required. Anyway, happy Friday and shout back when required.
