Weather feed

I was wondering if anyone knew a way of getting an app to receive weather information (perhaps from Google) and act upon it. I would like to use the current weather as a variable for selecting specific content (eg. It's sunny so the app plays a sunny song). I appreciate this may be a broad question so just a pointer in the right direction would be good for this newby. cheers.

Hi, This was sorta discussed here: http://www.buzztouch.com/forum/thread.php?tid=C7A33D031C208257212EC78&command=isSearching&currentPage=1&topicTitle=weather&createdBy=&repliedBy=&minViews=-1&maxViews=-1&minReplies=-1&maxReplies=-1&forumCategory= No plugin available, you would need to do programming if you want a custom solution. Unfortunately, no copy and paste on this one :)

Thanks for that. I guessed as much. It was more important to me to find out if it was possible. Hopefully I can sweet talk programmer friends into helping out. After reading that discussion am I to assume I could perhaps create code that modifies the weather url based on their location? Then responds to the feed returned? Think I'm running before I can walk. In fact I'm probably buying a car and planning a trip across north Africa before I can walk.

Hi Coderx Android. Partly because it's an open platform which I like in principle, but mainly because I have a PC and an Android phone. I haven't really got started on buzztouch yet, I think its taking a while to sink in (took me 6 hours to set up the software!). I am keen to use apps for art projects and, for obvious reasons, the focus in most places is mainly commercial. Hoping I can get the swing enough to make something interesting but a template/plugin based environment might be too restrictive for someone with limited programming knowledge. Thanks again for your time.

I'm more of an apple guy, and have done weather related objective c/jquery project. I haven't done any weather stuff for android though. But android does have more tools and like you said no restrictions. It should be technically easier to do it on the android. Anyways good luck and when you get to the weather stage I'm sure someone at buzztouch will give u a helping hand :)
