My Home Screen Woes

I am trying to create a Android v1.5 app and when I deleted "My Home Screen" entry it disabled the app when it's running in my simulator. It seems it won't let me recreate a new custom My Home Screen either?? Should I have just renamed the original My Home Screen to something custom and not deleted it completely? I tried creating a new custom theme too but the app seems somewhat paralyzed now. Should I start over?? Thanks in advance! Vic

Hi Vic, No need to start over completely. Just create any screen that you want to be your home screen, go into your control panel, and set that screen as the home screen under Layout...Home Screen. Then, instead of refreshing from within the app, start it in Eclipse of Xcode again. Also...after you get it configured with the correct home screen, copy your configuration file from the control panel (Config Data link) and paste it into your BT_Config.txt file. That'll make sure your local config file and server one are in sync. Then run your app in Eclipse/Xcode again. PM me if this doesn't make sense, and we can work through it! Mark

Hi again, do I paste the (Config Data link) directly into the existing BT_Config.txt file?

Yes...paste it directly into the existing BT_Config.txt file. Then save and refresh your project. I'd remove the splash screen for a bit. That you can always add in later, and they seem to be problematic. Mark

thenewboston videos are excellent. In BTv1.5 Android the Splash screen has a bug so don't use it. For alternative go to the Buzztouch Screens article in my guide, MySkylla's Guide to Buzztouch www.MySkylla.com I would ask, why are you using BTv1.5 Android when you could have BTv2.0? Fred
