BT 1.4 open link to google play store

Does anyone know - How do you enable a user to open an app's details page in the Google Play app on their device? So that I could have a 'rate this app' link in the menu or on a page and it would take them straight to the play store app rather than the web address. I can't get it to work with Custom URL screen using http: or market: Cheers, Steve

Tried that stuff - couldn't get it open the device's Google Play Store app. The http: link opens the device's Google Play Store app from the browser but not from the various bt 1.4 screens I tried. And I can't get the market: URI to work. Do you know a step by step solution?

Are you certain you have the correct package name?

Pretty sure - it's working in the browser just not opening the Play Store app. I've been trying a couple of things but my preferred avenue would be to: - add a custom url / webpage to menu - in URL field to have a URI that opens up my app in the user's device's play store app. - If my app package name is: 'com.v1_4.appname.com', what should I enter into the URL field??

The other thing I tried was putting a link in a Custom HTML page. So, alternatively, what would be the link that successfully opens up my app in the user's device's play store app given the app package name above?

With all apps, especially BTv1.4, you should copy package name from manifest file. Have you added the proper intent to open the app? Fred

I did try messing around with some intent code to go around the market: link but to be honest I'm not sure where that code should go... So is it not possible to use the custom url / webpage?

That is, I tried inserting "market://details?id=etc into custom url and custom html screens in bt1.4 and also... Intent intent = new Intent(Intent.ACTION_VIEW); intent.setData(Uri.parse("market://details?id=com.v1_4.appname.com")); startActivity(intent);

You can have the play app open. Details at: http://developer.android.com/guide/publishing/publishing.html Code goes on manifest. It's possible to use a URL to open any app but I haven't figured it out. Fred

Ok after looking at the http://developer.android.com/guide/publishing/publishing.html and countless other links still can't work out: - Exactly what code? - Where it goes in the androidmanifest? - And if when the code is inserted, then wherever I insert "market://details?id=<packagename>" in the bt1.4 app control panel will that now trigger the details page on the device's google play store app or give the option of the play store vs the browser, even though now it brings up a web page unavailable message?
