In theory, they would give you the support you need if you were to give them some financial incentive to do so. Becoming a paying member might be your only viable option. I've found that when it comes to push notifications, there's not a whole lot of resources out there for noobs. It's kind of expected that you'll be able to follow along with developer-speak on most of the how-to guides that I've found. I followed RidgeRock's tutorial and did get it to work so if you have a specific question about the Parse code I'll be able to tell you exactly what I did and it might work for you. If you can afford the time, you might try taking a step back and taking some beginner tutorials just to help you get more familiar with Android and the terminology. That's what I'm in the process of doing now with what I can find on Youtube. I'm hoping if I can learn the vocabulary and the different components, I won't be so lost when reading about classes and .xml files and build paths etc. Good luck.
