New version with Scringo approved, but...

My new version of "Brides and XV" has been approved. I love scringo, but I forgot to change the settings in test mode to "no." Oops, oh well. It's in the approval process, again, to remove the testers. However, I just wanted to share with everyone my new and improved app. My first version was approved with question marks instead of icons, then it was not approved twice because my icons had rounded corners in a grid format. Well, my new app is better than ever. Thanks for all of your help!!! Now to get it on Android.....(another challenge)

You already have achieved creating an iOS app, so, it wont be difficult creating an android app. Moreover, the app review in Google Play is not as strict as Apple Store standards. The android apps generally gets published within few hours of its submission to Google Play. Good luck with creating an android app.

@ALFREA was just reading some articles on this website and stumbled on this link. Its about Beginning Android for iOS Developers; or, How to Build a Real-World Android App, I thought it would be useful to you. Just have a look and tell me about it. http://clayallsopp.posterous.com/building-an-android-app-from-scratch-or-this

Regarding test mode: In Android if you use the debug key to publish in one year's time the app will no longer work. No you can't just update the debug key because it will be a different signing key. So everyone that installed the app will suddenly no longer have a functioning app. Not sure if you can publish in Google Play using a debug key, but if you can, you won't be able to fix the problem. Only solution would be to have users download the New app. Is same true of iOS? FRED

For Android - the World For iOS - the future Most screen are available for iOS in either version. But with BTv1.5 you'll one day ask how to migrate your BTv1.5 app to BTv2.0 because you want all those neat new and cool screens available in BTv2.0 and the response will be: Cut & Paste Modify the Config file and use Dropbox for online config file Fred

is v1.5 easier to use for people sort of new like myself? or can i jump in 2.0 now since i know v1.5....only thing i dont know how to do is add more screens through JSON as i stated in numerous threads, but other than that..hows 2.0?

My plan is to learn 2.0 ASAP, plus I was going to need to make a duplicate app for Android, either way, because v1.5 doesn't have the email uploader working for Android. Plus, scringo doesn't work for Android, yet, either. Thanks for the heads up on Android. @Fred....I was referring to the test mode (with fake users) in Scringo. I'm a little confused about the debug signing key expiration. If someone else can clarify, I would greatly appreciate it.

Congrats, Alfrea! The Android road may be tougher than the iOS one. Check the How-To section for some step-by-step instructions on setting up your environment! Mark

In Android you must sign an app to run it. When you use the Emulator Eclipse will sign your app with the debug key. Fred

@Fred.... Oh, in iOS, I didn't have to sign an app to run it. I'll refer back to your post when I start the Android app. Thanks. @Sheri, thanks for the compliments. I wanted a local wedding app when I was wedding planning, so I discovered Buzztouch to solve my problems for other brides to be. :) That's me in the photos. :-). I love my photographer. She did a great job with Photoshop. :)

Setting android environment is really one of the most confusing thing but, once you do so rest else is not so difficult in eclipse. You should check Fred's blog which will answer all most all the questions about android development, it is really very informative and contains many many helpful resources. As far as signing an app is concerned it can be done within few clicks, its not that difficult at all. Adding scringo to android apps would be possible within next 2 months according to @ianjamespiano. So keep your fingers crossed till then.
