This should be documented regarding the self hosted control panel

I lost a day to this issue and only with the help of a veteran did I figure it out. The issue is something that definitely needs to be documented with the self hosted server as I would never have guessed it on my own and the same is not true with the buzz touch.com server. When you create a new app you have to go to 'Global Themes' --> 'Default theme' --> 'Screen Background Color' --> enter a color and hit save. Otherwise, all of your screens will just appear to be black.

This was the problem with the rss plugin I was having. Not related to the plugin at all.

Wow.... I was having a problem with all menu's not accepting any changes except creating new buttons. Doing what you did, solve my problem too. Cheers to that.
