New User - Question about App that I have want to make.

I'm about to start Buzztouch U, but before I spend too much time in it I want to ask if it is possible to build the app that I want to build. Background. I host games at local bars and pubs that people must sign up for in order to play. The only information that I need on the sign up form is their name and which game they would like to play. Can I build an app that will send me a list of the names of the people that sign up and which game they want to play? I don't want to be notified by email of each person that signs up, I would rather be able to get a list that is hosted somewhere. I have a website, but it's hosted by Wordpress. Not sure if it is possible to send the data that I want to Wordpress. Can it be sent to somewhere else, like a shared Google doc? Thanks for your input, Alivsar

Alivsar, Welcome to Buzztouch! Buzztouch U is extremely helpful in all of your projects. I have used the Google Docs feature for one of my websites and it is an awesome feature.(word press site) All you would have to do is upload it to your server with something with FTP. Or do a redirection url. There are several form templates to choose from. Or...if you are need to create a "list" then having a service such as Aweber or Constant Contact would be a better bet...that way you are delivering the information more than once....kinda like a newsletter. There are plugins for wordpress that is "mobile" friendly. Not sure where most your content is.....where do they play the games? On the app? On your website? or in person at the pub? Is it like fantasy football or bingo? Android? iPhone? If you are a bit more specific it helps get you the right answer. Best of luck -Sheri

Sheri, They play in person at the pub. There are two events each night at different times. These events are held weekly at the same venues. I would like the players to be able to "sign up" for an event with the app, and then be able to have a list of the people that signed up somewhere that can be shared by 3 or 4 people.

Suggest you look at similar apps for ideas. But solution is to have a online ? that is updated when the users signs up. The ? can be done various ways. Your app is simply A method to sign-up via Link to website that does the heavy lifting App could do more, show rankings Schedule Whatever Using a db on a website to hold the info rendered on the app might be the appropriate ? I have looked for a similar app, but haven't found one yet. I don't need the app to do anything complex like show rankings, schedule or anything like that. I just need be people to be able to enter their name and then that data is stored somewhere I can retrieve the player names.

It's all about the search! Believe me....I do recommend Fred's search engine feature on his website. It is very helpful too :). It sounds like Google Docs would do the trick.......but it would be nice to capture these names and email them newsletters. I personally use Aweber. But there is literally dozens to choose from. That is a very simple feature. There are so many ways you can go with this sky is the limit! Another idea is to create a forum type atmosphere so people can talk real time. MacApple has an amazing feature that works well for that called Scringo but it's only for iOs http://www.buzztouch.com/forum/thread.php?tid=FA9A0D3DDD54E725F8A0BCB&command=isSearching&currentPage=1&topicTitle=Scringo&createdBy=&repliedBy=&minViews=-1&maxViews=-1&minReplies=-1&maxReplies=-1&forumCategory= I would recommend creating a wireframe first and formost. You can draw one or find a fancy program ....but either way.... that is what I do with every app I create. It get's what in your head down on paper making the process so much easier. Right now based on what you have shared you could do so many things....Contests, QR Codes, Tournaments ....as long as butts get in seats...
