Anybody done something fun with their Self-Hosted 2.0 login screen (besides color and logo changes?)

I've been thinking about adding some marketing goodies on the front page (login page) of BT 2.0 self hosted. The BT gang conveniently left a lot of prime real-estate on the right side of the screen. So, when a potential user first goes to that screen, they get something more enticing than a plain login prompt. In a way, the login page is the "landing page" for any potential users who are checking out your app builder. So, that landing page needs to have some marketing to entice people to "convert". Mmmm...like, maybe a marketing video? Buttons to click that will show them examples of apps that "can be created" with the server? Pictures of apple pie? I don't know, does anybody have great marketing ideas? Then, I will be delving into the PHP pages to figure out how to place the new content in... Cheers, T

I'm working on a front end, home page, app showcase, register page and additional front end pages added via a ckditor in the admin backend. Won't be any time soon though... I believe there are some users working on custom themes as well... Pretty much everything needed is already in the server, it just needs to be moved around and modified a bit... that's the theory anyway...

OK, found a few simple things to add to screen. Basically just added .jpegs to the login screen, in that right hand box, to represent "typical apps that you will get in this system". People who click on the .jpegs get sent to a little marketing write-up on each, along with a link for them to download sample apps. Oh god, compared to the average optimized web marketing web site, this is completely primitive. Oh well, Let's see if this gets people to convert to customers after they come to the site :) Raveyd, I'm intrigued by your list.

Hi ThomasB, It's coming along slowly. I've got a ckeditor integrated and working in the admin area to produce pages for the front end and I've extended the editor to have more features than the one in the customHTML plugin, but it's starting to get tricky now!
