Parse.com REST API

I have successfully added Push Notifications to an app using Parse.com and now I want to delve deeper into what they offer. It seems that through the Parse.com REST API you can set up broadcast message push notifications to be sent directly from the app rather than their control panel. This uses their REST API. Dorset anyone have any experience using this? I have been trying to educate myself on REST but am having trouble working out how to use it. Everyone says it is simple but I can't seem to find a simple demo of how to use REST URL's. As always any help from the BT community would be much appreciated!

I think you can also make a web page on your own site, so your client would log in to your server, not have to go to Parse and send notifications from your site. Not sure if I really understand if that's the way if work's but that would be neat.

Yes it seems you can do that, and if you can do that then you can do it from within the app by just having a HTML document with the same code as you would have on your website. Would be cool.

Great idea. Could just imagine the clients face light up.

iOS but it seems this can be done on a website so it should be possible to do it in a HTML Doc in BT for both iOS or Andriod... I think!

Emailed Parse and just got this reply from them: "You will have to manually make the calls to the REST API using javascript. If you can hold on for a little while, you'll be pleasantly surprised by a great feature we are releasing soon! But if this is urgent, you can try one of the many third party javascript libraries (https://parse.com/docs/api_libraries)." Gonna dive into the code there and see if I can do anything with it, but very interested to see what their new feature is...

Yeah I have explored this a little because I need a way for clients to send the Push. However, the idea of the client having to do anything with code kills the deal.
