How to force tabs back?

Just a little tabs story: from a screen with tabs, you load a screen where the options are set to 'Hide the tab bar'. And then (from that screen with tabs hidden) you load another screen with options set to 'Do not hide the tab bar'. Are the tabs supposed to reappear? It seems they won't! I'm currently testing the self-hosted BT-server on my OS X server and when testing the quiz plugin shared by btmods (where the tabs are automatically hidden), I can't force them back on the 'reward screen' and the user has to tap the 'Back' button, and tap again on the same button on the score screen, to go back to the main interface with tabs...
